Heart's Desire, a Galeton business since 1994, opened in a new location April 1. Occupying the old Devling Hardware building, Heart's Desire now has the capacity to offer space to other vendors. Already there is nearly 40 vendors and room for about 40 more.
Theresa Tubbs, who, along with her husband John, owns Heart's Desire, said they will be offering much of the same items at their new Main Street location as they had been carrying, including Boyd's Bears and Primitives candles, but with the additional vendors there will be so much more. The store, with its hardwood floors and old-fashioned hardware store accoutrements, provides spacious room for the quilts, jewelry, baskets, art work, alpaca wool sweaters, wood carvings, homemade soaps and candles, preserves, maple syrup, collectibles, memorabilia, and more, that vendors have on display. And for shoppers who need a break, there is a coffee and snack bar called the Daily Grind at the back of the store.
Heart's Desire is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Theresa said they hope to have a grand opening event sometime in early May and encourages anyone interested in the remaining vendor space to call her at (814)435-2280.
