“Galeton Revitalization Underway,” proclaimed the banners hanging across Galeton’s Main Street last year as the town undertook a major project which included widening Main Street, demolishing buildings, replacing and updating water and sewer lines, and improvements in John J. Collins Memorial Park in the center of town. The banners may be gone but Galeton’s revitalization continues, as another new business comes to town. Saying that they love what Galeton has done with their Main Street, real estate agents Shelly Wattles and Henry Greiner held an open house last Saturday at their new branch location of Endless Mountain Real Estate on East Main Street. Potter County Commissioner Susan Kefover, a member of Galeton Development Corporation, welcomed Wattles and Greiner to Galeton and said, “This business is another piece of what we have dreamed of for Galeton’s revitalization. We’re so happy you’re here.” Wattles stated that the reception they have gotten from the town has been great.
Endless Mountain has offices in Westfield and Covington and has been in business under owner/broker Bill Hall since 1991. When asked how the recent slump in housing and real estate has affected them, Greiner said they haven’t noticed much of a change. “We’re still selling a lot of real estate. In fact, with what’s happening in the economy and the stock market, there are buyers looking for land as a safe place to invest money. We’re busy every day.” A listing of properties for sale shows a wide range of choices, from houses in town, business and rental properties, to small farmettes and large parcels of acreage. There is a wide range of prices, as well, from $60,000 to $850,000.
Thanking all those present for their help in making the new office a reality, Greiner expressed enthusiasm for the Galeton location. “This is a great town. It looks great and the people have been wonderful.” The office, located on the west end of the building that houses the CarQuest Auto Parts store, is decorated with antiques and has an expansive view of Main Street. “We’ve been interested in coming to Galeton for a while,” said Wattles. “It’s turned out perfect.”
The phone number for the Galeton office of Endless Mountain Real Estate is (814)435-7780 and listings for the company can be viewed on the Web at www.endlessmtrealestate.com.
