More movie choices—

Published: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 2:29 PM CST
To the editor:

The Arcadia Theater is one of the best deals around for family entertainment. The Arcadia gets first run movies just like the big cities. My one problem with the theater is it appears that if a movie is geared towards women of a more mature nature either the theater does not get them or they have them for just a few days. Now, I attend many movies at the Arcadia and see many previews. Nights in Rodanthe with Richard Gere and Diane Lane; previews were shown at the Arcadia, but the movie never came. Lucky for me I was able to go to the new Cinema in Williamsport to see the movie.

Now, the week of Feb. 23 the Reader and Last Chance Harvey played for less then a week. The Reader played at 6:45 and in the same theater Last Chance Harvey played at 9:10. I heard many women that were seeing the Reader wishing they would be able to see Last Chance Harvey as well. Some of us even asked employees if there would be any chance of these two movies being held over for a few more days which they were not. Two good movies that were not given a chance to be seen by the many women movie goers in Tioga County. Movie goers are not just kids and teenagers, there are many mature people that would just like to see a good movie too.
