Natalie Kennedy has been named general manager of the company effective March 1 by Pat Patterson, group publisher of Tioga Publishing Co.
In this role, Kennedy will be responsible for day-to-day operations at the offices in Wellsboro and Coudersport.
Kennedy has been employed by Tioga Publishing for more than 20 years. She first worked here from 1987 to 1998, filling positions from graphic design/typesetting to general news reporter. She returned in 2009 as managing editor, a position she will continue to hold in addition to general manager.
In addition, she has a background in public relations and marketing.
“I am grateful and more than a little humbled by Community Media Group’s faith in me,” Kennedy said. “Through my career, I’ve been fortunate to have some wonderful mentors who continue to challenge me: Don Fryday, George Moon, David Sullens and now Pat Patterson. My goal is to follow their example and continue our long tradition of providing news and information to the communities we serve.”
“I am thrilled to see Natalie take on the roll of general manager. Natalie’s natural leadership, involvement with the community and excellent news judgement makes this a natural and easy decision.” Patterson said. “As our industry and business continues to evolve and change, Natalie’s leadership is so very valuable to us all.”
A lifelong resident of Tioga County, she is a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and currently serves on the Tioga County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board.
She has also served on the Wellsboro United Fund board, Boy Scout advisory committee, Cub Scout parent committee, 4-H leader, a coach for the Wellsboro Area Youth Soccer and acted in several community theater productions.
She and her husband, Francis, are the parents of three adult children.
