Elkland Senior Center enjoys CVHS chorus concert

The Cowanesque Valley High School chorus performed for members of the Elkland Social Club recently.

The Elkland Area Senior Citizens Club met on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Elkland Fire Hall. Club president Dick Vargeson welcomed everyone and Raymond Doan opened with a prayer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

A total of 46 members enjoyed pork barbecue and rolls prepared by the Osceola Big M, and many side dishes and desserts brought in by members.

The Cowanesque Valley High School Chorus performed a very well done selection of songs under the direction of Jeanne Tubbs.

Chorus members stayed after the performance for refreshments and conversations with club members.

Birthdays for the month were Christine Karns and Millie Corwin.

Anniversaries were Duane and Roberta Hackett Doan.

The club drawings were won by Olive Wood (door prize), Elma Finelli (Osceola Big M gift card) and Clare Walker (50/50).

The next meeting will be at noon on Thursday, Nov. 7 in the Elkland Fire Hall and visitors and new members are welcome.
