Seth Huyler

Seth Huyler for the Cowanesque Indians football team had a spectacular outing in his first Homecoming win of his career. Huyler was a dual threat, scoring from the air and the ground for the Indians and totaling 319 yards.

Huyler has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NTL all season, and has thrown for 866 yards, eight touchdowns and only one interception all season long.

He missed two games due to injury, making his output that much more impressive. His strong performance in his first ever Homecoming win is why Huyler is this week’s Free Press Male Athlete of the week.

Female Athlete of the Week

Gaeton Tigers Volleyball

Alli Macensky

The Galeton Tigers volleyball team has gone 2-1 over the past week and are sitting at 7-5 on the season.

One of the biggest contributors to their success this season is freshman Alli Macensky. Macensky has had a strong stretch of play over the last week totalling 33 kills and 13 totals blocks during the span.

Her strong play is an extremely positive sign for the Galeton Tigers future, and with three years left to play she should be one of the top competitors for the Tigers for years to come.

For the season, she has led her team in total kills with a total of 105 and also in total blocks with 39. She has been one of the anchors offensively and defensively for the Tigers volleyball this season, and has earned her the title of this week’s Free Press Female Athlete of the week.
