Williamson Defense

The Williamson Lady Warriors on defense tightens up as Jaime Palmer drives the lane during Williamson’s eleventh loss of the season.

MANSFIELD — The Williamson Lady Warriors traveled to Mansfield and their woes continued, as they were unable to get their offense going against a smothering Lady Tigers defense.

Williamson fell by a score of 71-16 in the effort, and were held scoreless for a majority of the first half and struggled breaking the tenacious press of the Lady Tigers.

In the second quarter the Lady Warriors finally were able to get themselves on the scoreboard after a free throw fell through the nylon, and they ended up building on that by scoring seven points in the frame as opposed to none in the first quarter.

In the second half they still were unable to get shots to fall, and only scored nine points to bring the final count to 71-16 and the Lady Warriors fell to 0-10 on the year.

Williamson was led by Latiesha Peterson who netted 11 of the Warriors 16 points in the effort, and continues to be the focal point of the offense.

In their next contest Williamson traveled to Wyalusing to take on the Lady Rams (3-7) in another tough contest for the Warriors. They were unable to come up with a victory as they fell by a score of 62-13 and their drought continues as they still search for their coveted first win as they fall to 0-11 on the season.

The Lady Warriors will need to improve on both ends of the floor, but especially on the offensive end where in their last two contests were unable to top the 20-point mark.
