Elkland borough council met in special session Saturday to name a secretary/treasurer.
The billing clerk, Amy Tulanowski, was named to the position on Wednesday, however decided against taking the job. Jill Hall of Lindley, N.Y. was named to the position and will be paid $20/hour. No benefit package was offered. Hall will work 24-30 hours weekly. Hall served in the position in Lawrenceville borough in the past. Tulanowski will continue as billing clerk.
Council took action to provide a credit card/debit system for residents to pay their water/sewer bills. There will be no upfront costs to the borough. There will be a fee of $1.50 added to bills of those who choose to use credit or debit cards. The bills are now payable at the borough office instead of the C&N Bank.
Council members held a short executive session for personnel matters.
