Amanda Lehman has a bachelor’s degree in human services with a concentration in psychology from SUNY Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She has been providing mental health services for more than a decade and drug and alcohol counseling for more than two years.
“I love what I do and am very passionate about recovery,” said Lehman.
She will run the family program, which focuses on family reintegration. As addiction affects the entire family, reconnecting family members is often key in a person’s recovery. The program works on reconnecting the person in treatment with family members, improving communication and creating an effective support system without enabling.
Counselor Matthew Dillon also holds a bachelor’s degree from Mansfield University in the human services field with a concentration in psychology. He will serve as a primary addiction counselor at the Tioga County Prison and in the Wellsboro office.
“I’m excited because I’ll be getting to people earlier in the process, planting seeds and have them keep coming back,” said Dillon. “I just like helping people. As long as I can make a difference, that’s why I’m here.”
