LAWRENCEVILLE — The borough council here was unable to meet Sept. 4 due to lack of a quorum.

Council member Anna Hoteling said that she was resigning from the council effective Sept. 4. No action was taken due to the lack of a quorum.

Council president Kathryn Helgemo said a prior council approved paying monthly bills to avoid penalties. The council will pay the bills to avoid penalty.

In the expected absence of borough secretary treasurer Meagan Hutcheson Water, sewer secretary Tammy Giradina attended the meeting and was introduced by Helgemo.

The planning commission received positive comments about work around the community, including hanging flower baskets. The group plans to have more baskets with larger selections of flowers for the community next year.

Fall cleanup will be Oct. 28 in the parking lot at the fire hall.

Those attending discussed the agenda, but all action was tabled until the next meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 7.
