Katelyn Loss, the 2018 Pennsylvania State Laurel Queen, will crown her successor this Saturday, June 15 during the Coronation Ceremony that begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Coolidge Theatre at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro.
Her advice to this year’s 28 Laurel Queen candidates from throughout the state is to “Be yourself, don’t try to be someone you’re not. That was a big thing for me. I was just myself,” she said.
Miss Loss represented Montoursville Area High School at last year’s Laurel Festival. She is the daughter of Christa and Clifford Loss of Fairfield Township.
On Saturday, June 8, she participated in Family Day and the Children’s Health Fair, the festival kickoff. She rode on a fire truck during the Sunday, June 9 Pet Parade and handed out the awards on The Green.
This Friday, June 14, Miss Loss will take part in activities with the Laurel Queen candidates. At noon, they will gather on the Tioga County Courthouse steps for the official welcome. The young ladies will then go to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon for a picnic lunch and tour.
At 4:30 p.m. on Friday, the band 3D will open
