A truck driver cut a corner too tight and put the truck wheels in a ditch in the evening of Thursday, Aug. 29. The driver of the truck missed a turn and backed into John Deere Lane (the entrance for Crooked Creek Campground), Chief Sam DeLosa of the Gaines Township Police Department told the Potter Leader-Enterprise. When the driver went to pull out back onto Route 6, he cut the corner too tight and put the trailer wheels off the road, into a ditch. This caused the vehicle to jack up sideways and become stuck in the middle of the road. DeLosa said Route 6 was halfway closed for about an hour and a half; all the traffic going eastbound was redirected around the truck. There was no significant damage to anything, DeLosa said, and no tickets were issued.
