Kenneth Button, 56, of Galeton, was driving west on SR-6 in a 2000 Ford Ranger, on Feb. 29, when he went into the opposing lane of traffic and struck a 2019 Honda Ridgeline, being driven by Carl Jirst, 68, of Stevens. Both vehicles required towing. The investigation continues.

Daniel Schoonover, 50, of Genesee, was driving east on SR-49 in a 2005 Dodge Dakota on Feb. 27, when he lost control of the vehicle, which spun in the roadway and overturned onto its roof on an embankment along the south side of the roadway. Schoonover was not injured and the vehicle was towed by Kightlinger Motors. Schoonover was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speeds.

Jeffrey Crippen, 47, of Harrison Valley, was driving east, in a 1994 Ford Econoline E150 in Harrison Township on East Main Street, on Feb. 18, when he lost control of the vehicle, due to slush-covered road conditions. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, running over a speed limit sign and striking a tree. Crippen sustained no injuries, but his passenger, Francis Burton, 52, sustained minor injuries and was transported to UPMC-Cole by Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Company. Crippen was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speeds.


A 16-year-old male, from Genesee, was treated at UPMC-Cole on Feb. 14 for injuries which resulted from a suspected assault. The investigation is ongoing.
