The Galeton Tiger’s baseball team suffered a tough loss to Bucktail Thursday, April 18.

The Tigers traveled to Bucktail and started the game well with two runs in the first inning. The Bucks answered with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the first.

Galeton tacked on a third run in the top of the second to take a one run lead which they would hold until the bottom of the third.

The Bucks evened things up in the third with one run.

Galeton continued to fight and took the lead once again in the fourth.

In the fifth both teams scored twice which left Galeton on top with a one run lead heading into the sixth.

The sixth inning proved to be decisive in a back and forth match. The Bucks stepped up to the plate in the bottom half of the inning and scored five runs to take their largest lead of the day.

Galeton had one more opportunity to even things up but were unable to score in the top of the seventh and fell to Bucktail 10-6 for the Tigers fifth loss of the season.

Hunter Crowell led the Tigers at the plate with three hits and two RBIs.

Jake Cochran had two hits in four plate appearances. Cochran was also responsible for an RBI in the Tiger’s loss.

Trey Kalacinski went 1-for-3 on the night.

Noah Shutt scored twice for Galeton and went 1-for-2 at the plate. Brandon Rued and Foster Kosa each went 1-for-4 at the plate.
