The Cowanesque Valley girls basketball team capped off their season with a three game win streak. The win streak was the longest such period for the Lady Indians who finish the season with an overal record of 9-13.
The Lady Indians completed the win streak with a home victory over North Penn-Liberty Friday night.
The Lady Indians took an early 13-6 lead behind two successful three-pointers by Delaney Doan. Makayla Vargeson added four points for Cowanesque Valley in the first.
North Penn-Liberty kept the game close in the second. The Lady Mounties held Cowanesque Valley to just six points.
After a quiet first quarter, Taylor Thompson scored two points for North Penn-Liberty to help North Penn-Liberty outscore Cowanesque Valley 8-6 in the second.
Both teams came out of halftime and played aggressively nearly matching their first half totals in the third quarter alone.
The Lady Indians scored 17 points in the third quarter to extend their five point lead to 10 heading into the final quarter.
The Lady Indians continued to play aggressively through the fourth, scoring another 17 points.
On defense, the Lady Indians held North Penn-Liberty to four points in the fourth to earn a 53-30 home victory to close out the season.
Vargeson scored 15 points to lead the Lady Indians.
Doan finished the night with 12 points in the win.
