The Cowanesque Indians were held scoreless as they played Troy on the road Friday night. The Trojans put up 35 points against the Indians following a big third quarter where they dropped 16 points.
Prior to the half Cowanesque Valley kept the game close conceding only 13 points. After the third though, the game was out of reach. The loss brings the Indians to 0-6.
Seth Huyler threw for 148 yards on 17 completions. Brandon Paul led the team in receiving with six receptions for 64 yards. Matt barber also had 6 receptions adding 29 yards to the Indians offense.
The Trojans limited the Indians ground attack allowing only 23 yards rushing on the evening.
On defense Cole Gruver led Cowanesque Valley with eight tackles two of which were for a loss. Behind Gruver were Matt Barber and Owen Fitzwater each with seven tackles on the night.
This week the Indians travel to Bucktail in search of their first win. Bucktail is currently 1-4 after a 45-0 loss to Muncy.
