Girls volleyball would see a midweek matchup as Sayre hosted Cowanesque Valley on Thursday last week.

The opening set of 4 would see the Cowanesque Vally Lady Indians win with a score of 25-11.

The second set would result in Sayre fighting back to win 25-19.

Moving into the third set Sayre would beat the Lady Indians by just 4 points 25-21.

Then in the 4th and final game Sayre would hang on for thrilling 26-24 win, handing the Lady Indians a loss on the road.

The Lady Redskins look to take momentum from their two game win streak into their next game Thursday night against Northeast Bradford.

Miranda Tappen led the Lady Redskins with 16 kills on the night.

Madeline Dutras led the team with 7 serving aces.

For Cowanesque Valley Rylie Walker led the team with 10 kills on the evening. Makayla Vargeson added seven kills to the Lady Indians attack.

Kaylin Burton would lead the Lady Indians with four aces with Rylie Walker, Kailey Wells, and Karen Short all adding two and Ashleigh Southard one on the night.

Cowanesque Valley looked to bounce back from the defeat with home matches against Williamsport and Williamson this week. Scores from those game will be in next week’s paper.
