The Galeton Lady Tigers have found their groove over the last week having won three straight. After wins over Northern Potter and Sayre the week before the girls traveled to Austin last Wednesday for what would be a four set win.

The Lady Tigers took the win after falling in the first set 15-25. The Tigers bounced back in the next three sets taking double digit wins in each game, 25-14, 25-14, 25-11.

Marika Lechler led Galeton with eight kills and four aces. Erin Cimino added five kills and a block. Alexis Johnson, Kelsey Bennett, and Kelsey Bennett finished with three kills, Johnson also had an ace on the evening. Makenna Shuemaker led the Lady Tigers with 12 assists and four aces.

The Tigers overall record improved to 6-4 with the win. The next night Galeton hit the road again, when they traveled to Otto-Eldred.

Galeton came out and won the first two sets against the Lady Terrors 25-15 and 25-19. All was going well. Even after the Lady Terrors took a close third set Galeton was still leading 2-1.

The Lady Terrors grabbed another close set in the fourth to tie the match. Otto-Eldred road the momentum from the two set wins to take a the fifth and final set and steal the win form Galeton.

Marika Lechler led the Lady Tigers with nine kills and three aces. Brielle Kalacinski commanded the net with seven kills and a block. Regan Fuller had four kills. Makenna Shuemaker and Kate Kulish each had 13 assists with Shuemaker adding two kills and Kulish one. Kelsey Bennet also added three kills for Galeton.

The loss for Galeton was the first since their match against Port Allegany back on Sept. 18. It was a tough loss for the Lady Tigers, whose overall record is now 6-5.

This week Galeton played Smethport at home Tuesday before a match in Coudersport Thursday.
