One person suffered minor injuries in a crash with a Freightliner tractor-trailer on Route 414, Liberty Township July 22. Guy Wolfe, 57, of Jersey Shore, was pulling out of a driveway and making a left turn traveling westbound. A 2005 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck operated by Bruce V. Gibbs, 67, of Selinsgrove attempted to pass the truck. The semi turned into the side of the Tacoma, hitting the passenger side. The Tacoma went off the road and hit sheds owned by Black Creek Enterprise. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts, including two minors in the pick-up truck. One, a 14-year-old girl, suffered a minor injury and was transported to Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro for treatment.
No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash on East Third Street, Loyalsock Township Aug. 6. According to state police at Montoursville, Brittany N. Richardson, 24, of Wellsboro, was traveling west in a 2015 VW Jetta when it turned left toward the entrance of 1850 East Third St. and was hit by a 2016 Toyota Sienna mini-van operated by Byron E. Bassett, 76, of Muncy. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts and Richardson was cited for turning in front of oncoming traffic.
An ATV rider suffered minor injuries in a crash on Mainesburg Road, Sullivan Township, July 7. Shawn W. Neal, 34, of Mainesburg, was injured after his 2016 Kawasaki ATV crashed as it went off the west side of the road, hit a mailbox and overturned. Neal then fled the scene driving southbound. According to state police Neal was not transported to the hospital and was cited for operating an ATV without a license.
Dalton A. Prough, 19, of Wellsboro, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Williamson Road, Covington Township Aug 12 when he lost control of his 2013 Toyota Corolla while attempting to spit out the driver’s side window. While traveling north, Prough jerked the steering wheel to the right, causing the car to travel across the highway and through a ditch into a cornfield. He was cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic. He was wearing a seat belt.
Nicole E. Doan, 29, of Wellsboro, suffered a minor injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 362, Delmar Township Aug 3. Dean was traveling west in a 2016 Subaru Impreza when she failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway, traveled off the north edge of the road and into a lawn area. The car then hit a ditch causing it to rotate, and then dug into the lawn, and rolled over, hitting a tree. The car landed on its wheels. Dean was transported by private vehicle to Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. She was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
Ronald L. Cleveland, 78, of Middlebury Center escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Charleston Road, Charleston Township Aug. 8. Cleveland was traveling west in a 2005 Ford Focus when the vehicle left the north side of the roadway and hit a ditch, causing disabling damage to the front right wheel. He was wearing a seat belt. His passenger, Sandra J. Cleveland, 77, also of Middlebury Center, also escaped injury and was wearing a seat belt. He was cited for failing to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
Rodney P. Gilbert, 52, of Tioga, may have been injured in a one-vehicle crash on Elkhorn Road, Farmington Township, Aug. 12. Gilbert was traveling south in a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette when the car left the right side of the roadway, and hit a utility pole. The pole was cut in half, leaving live wires in the roadway. Gilbert left the scene, police said, without reporting the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Gilbert was charged with hit and run.
Julie A. Fish, 30, of Millerton, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 328, Jackson Township Aug. 12. Fish was traveling east in a 2016 Ford Explorer when she abruptly applied her brakes to avoid hitting a deer in the roadway. She hit the deer and the vehicle sustained disabling damage, traveled to the shoulder of the road and stopped. She was wearing a seat belt and was cited for no insurance.
James K. Taylor, 54, of Tioga, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Berry Street, Tioga borough July 26. Taylor was traveling west in a 2013 Hyndai Accent when it drove over an embankment and became airborne. The car then hit a walking wood bridge and continued through a grassy area before coming to final rest over an embankment. Tayler left the scene, police said without contacting police or the property owner. He was cited for speeding. It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
A 28-year-old Canton man was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and drug possession following a traffic stop of his 2006 Chevrolet on North Williamson Road, Covington Township June 21.
A known male was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop of his 2010 Subaru Impreza Outback on Route 49, Deerfield Township Aug. 4. The investigation is ongoing.
A 53-year-old Sabinsville man was the victim of criminal mischief between Aug. 9 and Aug. 11. State police are investigating the incident in which the victim’s 2004 Dodge Chrysler was keyed while parked at his residence on Wattle Run Road.
