Crashes

Adam T. Hook, 26, of Montoursiville, was injured in a one-vehicle crash on Bloss Mountain Road, Liberty Township, Aug. 3. Hook was traveling north waiting to make a left turn onto Upper Arnot Road in a 2014 Ford E360 when he failed to see a 2011 General Motors Sierra operated by Gregory J. West, 59, of Liberty approaching the intersection, and turned in front of him. West also was injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were transferred via ambulance to SSMH for treatment of their injuries.

A deer caused a crash on Hill Road, Covington Township Aug. 31. The deer entered the lane of travel in front of a 2018 Toyota Rav 4 and the driver was unable to avoid a collision. No injuries were reported and the driver’s name was not release. The vehicle sustained minor front end damage.

Theft

Weston Root, 35, of Tioga was charged with theft following investigation into an incident on Collums Road, Jackson Township between Aug. 20 and Aug. 27. Root was found to be in possession of an iPhone 4s valued at $50 and a Mongoose Shimano mountain bike valued at $150 that did not belong to him. He was charged in Elkland District Court.

Police are investigating criminal mischief at the Abundant Life Church, Knoxville between Sept. 1 and Sept. 3. Someone used a blunt object to damage the exterior and interior basement window on the northern side of the church. The exterior single pane window was valued at $100 and the interior window was valued at $100.

Police are investigating a theft from the Canyon Country Cabs, Route 6, Charleston Township. The 40-year-old from Wellsboro was an employee who failed to deposit $409.24 in cab fees for three working days between Aug. 4 and Aug. 9. Charges were filed in Wellsboro district court for theft and receiving stolen property.
