Justin T. Peters, 21, of Galeton and Jordyn E. Coffee, 21, of Wellsboro both avoided injury in a two-vehicle accident on Route 660 in Richmond Township March 7. Peters was operating a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, when Coffee, driving a 2013 Subaru Impreza attempted to pass in the left lane. While Coffee was attempting to pass, Peters moved into the left lane causing the front portion of Coffee’s Subaru to impact Peters’ vehicle. Both vehicles then traveled onto the Southern edge of the road where they came to a final rest. Peters was charged with careless driving.
State police responded to a four vehicle accident on Route 6 in Delmar Township March 18. The crash occurred as a Chrysler Town and Country operated by Lorraine S. OConnor, 68, of Westfield rear ended a 2006 Dodge Stratus operated by Rena M. Brown, 38, of Galeton, who in turn rear ended a third vehicle. Brown then moved into the eastbound lane and struck a 2013 GMC Savana operated by Anthony J. Yeager, 61, of Wellsboro. OConnor and a passenger were taken to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial hospital via Wellsboro ambulance for suspected injuries. The drivers of the other three vehicles sustained no injuries as a result of the crash. OConnor was cited for following too closely.
Dennis J. McArthur, 60, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and three passengers suffered injuries in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 15 in Liberty Township March 15.
State police are investigating a theft that occurred on Marsh Road in Nelson Township between Dec. 21 and March 14. Unknown persons stole a utility trailer from a residence. Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at Mansfield.
Taylor Cramm, 18, of Canton was arrested for harassment in Union Township March 13. Police were investigating a reported physical altercation on Route 414 when Cramm was arrested.
A 35-year-old female and a 40-year-old male, both of Mansfield, were arrested for harassment in Richmond Township March 15. The individuals were cited for harassment through district court.
A 50-year-old from Hamburg was arrested for an active protection from violence order after the individual telephoned the accuser on March 13.
State police were notified of a criminal mischief event that occurred around 6 p.m. on March 16 on North Bullock Road in Richmond Township. A green Dodge Dakota stopped near the stop sign and an unknown male exited the vehicle and used gray spray paint to write a racial slur on the stop sign located at the intersection. The individual then entered the pickup truck and fled the area. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact state police.
