The Cowanesque Valley Indians golf team put on their best performance of the season and dethroned the Wellsboro Hornets golf team as the District Champions. Austin Outman has had the best year of any golfer in the NTL this season, and his strong performance shooting a field low of 78 was enough to help the Indians claim the title.
Outman averaged a score of just over 76 per outting this year and a low round of 70, which is by far the lowest total of any NTL golfer this season. The Indians sat in second place for large majority of the season, and coming up with a win at the District Championship round was huge for them.
In the second day of competition, Outman continued to dominate, winning the individual round with a narrow victory of the Hornets Joseph Prophetta by just three strokes. Joel Heck was another golfer who helped the Indians team to a championship, shooting a 174 between the two days with an average of 87 helping propel his team. Skylar Smith was also invited back for the second day to compete for the individual title as well.
