After reaching the district playoffs, the Galeton Tigers soccer team was unable to pull off an upset victory against the top seeded Millville team last week in an 11-1 loss. After finishing the season 7-11 the Tigers snuck into district play as the eighth seed, but faced a daunting matchup against Millville who came into the playoffs with 15 wins and three losses.

Galeton struggled in the first half to gain control of the ball, with Millville's offense in a constant attack mode, pressuring the defense at every possible opportunity. The Millville team was able to outscore the Tigers by a score of 7-0 in the first half alone, putting them in a deep hole going into the second half of play.

Moving into the second half, the Tigers were able to make some adjustments in order to keep up with the high powered offense of Millville, but were unable to push themselves out of the first half deficit. The Tigers were able to score one goal near the end of regulation to avoid a shut-out and brought the final count to 11-1 with Millville moving on.
