Williamsons’ goalkeeper makes a diving save in a loss on the road against Wellsboro.

The Williamson Warriors boys soccer team were coming off two losses against two of the top teams in the NTL, but were able to bounce back and steal a win in a home match-up with the Northern Potter Panthers team.

The Warriors played a great defensive game, only allowing one goal on 12 shots on goal. Williamson came up with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers and snap ped their two game skid. The Warriors also scored three first half goals to go along with their solid defensive effort, and have brought their record to 7-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

They sit in the middle of of the NTL standings, but have weathered the most challenging section of their schedule.

The Warriors face the Troy Trojans two times and the Sayre Redskins once, with a chance to improve on their record and climb up in the standings.

The Warriors boys soccer team has made a massive improvement from the previous season where they finished at 4-8. They have already almost doubled that win total and are looking to keep up their winning ways as they close out the season.The Warriors next game is Oct. 1 at Troy where the Warriors will look to put together back to back winning performances.
