State police at Mansfield and Coudersport reported the following incidents.

Traffic collision

A blown truck tire caused a driver to lose control of his vehicle Monday, July 26, while he was traveling on Route 15, at the Route 414 overpass, Liberty Township. According to police, Ryan Filkins, Fairfax, Va., was operating a 2002 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck when the accident occurred, sending the truck into an embankment and guard rails. Filkins was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.


Police are investigating the theft of a mailbox from a Sullivan Township residence sometime overnight between July 25 and July 26. Police said that someone took a mailbox belonging to Anthony Hughes, 52, of Mainesburg. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Mansfield.

DUI collision

An investigation by state police into a possible alcohol-related accident is continuing. According to police, William Wishwanick, 33, of Warminster, was traveling east on Route 6 about one mile west of Mansfield in a 1991 Toyota pickup truck, when he traveled off the south side of the roadway and crashed into some trees and a ditch. Wishwanick suffered minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene. He was arrested for DUI. His passenger, Traci Jancsics, 31, of Quakertown, was transported to Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, where her condition is unknown.


State police were called to the scene of a fight involving Shane Hulbert, 34 and Joel Coolidge, 46, both of Wellsboro, at a party July 23 in Antrim. Police said the two men struck each other, then Hulbert left the scene. Summary charges are pending against both men.

Traffic crash

A PennDOT construction worker suffered minor injuries after he was struck by a car in a construction zone on Route 49, Osceola Township Friday, July 23. Police said a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina operated by Vicki Howlett, 43, of Knoxville, was traveling through the construction zone when it struck Shawn Dyroff, 35, of Jersey Shore.


State police are investigating a report of an altercation that occurred between two hospital employees in the radiology department at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. Police said that Jessie Wiedman, 26, of Westfield, was charged with harassment in regard to an alleged incident involving another employee.


A driver using a cell phone escaped injury after she lost control of her car and rolled it down an embankment July 23. Police said Ashley Case, 19, Mansfield, was traveling down the hill on Westgate Road, Richmond Township in a 2001 Hyundai sedan when she drove her car onto the north shoulder and lost control of the vehicle. She was wearing a seatbelt.


Someone drove off from the Aces and Eights store, Richmond Township July 22 without paying for gas he had pumped around 5:40 p.m. The man was a white man in his 30s, wearing a blue shirt and tan shorts. He fled the scene in a white Subaru in an unknown direction. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Mansfield.


Several aluminum wheel rims were taken from a Wellsboro area business between July 4 and July 22. Police said that someone took 15 aluminum rims of various sizes from Niles Transportation on Route 6, Charleston Township. The rims are 24.5 inches, 22 inches and 2 inches in size with ten lug holes.


A piece of surveying equipment was taken July 15 or 16 after it fell from a truck traveling along Route 49, Westfield. Police said that an employee of K. Robert Cunningham Surveying Inc. was traveling in the truck when the equipment, a Nikon NLP350 total station, fell from the side door of the work truck. It is in an orange case with the company name on the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Mansfield.

Trucks Crash

Three tractor trailers were involved in an accident July 22 on Route 14 in Union Township. Police said that Michael M. McKee, 47, of Syracuse, N.Y., was traveling south in a 2000 Volvo tractor double trailer when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road. The truck went off the road, and the driver lost control, rolling it onto its right side, partially in the roadway. Another tractor trailer, a 1995 Peterbilt with a tank, operated by Mark D. Struble, 40, of Bellefonte, which was traveling north, hit the first one and rolled onto its right side. A third tractor trailer, a 1998 International with a flatbed trailer, traveling south, also hit the first one as it lay in the roadway. All of the drivers were wearing seatbelts and there were no injuries reported. Both lanes of travel were closed while the accident was cleared from the roadway.


A Mansfield man was charged with driving under the influence July 22, on Route 6, east of Galeton, Potter County, according to police. William Siebel, 40, was charged after being stopped by state police.


State police are investigating the theft of prescription drugs from a Wellsboro woman. Police said someone took 60 tablets of Oxycodone from the home of Kathleen Hart, 41, Wellsboro, sometime between July 21 and July 24. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.

Traffic crash

A motorcycle crash July 25 resulted in injury to a New York State woman. According to police, Jessica Gray, 25, of Elmira Heights, N.Y., was traveling west on Route 6 on a 1979 Honda west of Wellsboro when she lost control of the bike. The cycle fell over and Gray struck the roadway. She was flown via medical helicopter to the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
