Coudersport’s varsity volleyball team had two wins in the last week, bringing their league record to 13-3 and giving them a space in the District 9 Play-offs.

Coudersport (No. 6) will face Union (No. 11) at home at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The winner of that game will continue on and play against AC Valley, (No. 3) at AC Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 30.

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, Cameron County traveled to Coudersport where Coudy won in three close sets. Set scores were 25-22, 25-22, 22-15.

For Coudersport, Shaelyn Black had two aces and nine kills; Dana Dubots had five aces and two kills; Sarah Atherholt had three blocks and three kills, and Mikayla Kavounas had six aces, five assists, and three kills.

For Cameron County, Hailey Hilfiger had six blocks.

On Thursday, Oct. 18, Coudersport hosted Oswayo Valley, where Coudersport won in five sets. Set scores were 25-18, 25-16, 23-25, 25-20.

For Coudersport, Black had five aces and 15 kills; Dubots had five aces and 11 kills; Williams had five aces and six kills, and Kavounas had 11 assists and four kills.

For Oswayo Valley, Karley Carpenter had three aces, six blocks, two kills and eight points. Naomi Cook had three aces, seven kills and seven points.

“It was a nice senior night. Our three seniors (Black, Dubots, and Williams) all had good games for us. I wish them the best of luck with their future endeavors,” Coach Brian Green said in a text message.
