COUDERSPORT — Demolition and excavation of the former Costa’s Food Center site began on Feb. 10, Foreman Jason Marshall told the Potter Leader-Enterprise.
Marshall said the Sheetz Corporation hired Shadeco Excavating to prepare the grounds for the relocation of the Coudersport Sheetz, currently located on Main Street. Shadeco workers have already started demolishing the structures on the grounds and, Marshall said, they plan to install piping and utilities, pour the concrete for the driveway and widen part of U.S. Route 6.
Nick Ruffner, Sheetz Corporation public relations manager, told the Potter Leader-Enterprise that the new Coudersport store building will be 4,906 square feet.
“We expect construction to be wrapped up and the store to open its door by late July,” Ruffner said. “It will feature our newest store design ... This store will also have outdoor seating and the capability to fuel eight vehicles at one time, along with one high flow diesel fueling pump.”
