Berger Lake was drained by Galeton Borough employees so that architectural firm Youst, Smith, and Matthews can conduct a structural study of the current dam. YSM has been contracted to do four studies regarding the feasibility of the dam and lake back in 2016.

GALETON – A drained Berger Lake this past summer gave way to some feasibility study findings for architectural consulting company Yost, Strodoski and Mears, which was shared at a public meeting on Monday, Nov. 6, at the Galeton School.

Though YSM officials Anne Yost and Chuck Strodoski shed some light for what may be in store for the future of Berger Lake and its dam, they also emphasized there’s still a lot of preliminary work to be done.
