Though the Galeton Knit in Public event has officially been canceled, organizers have been busy with planning other activities, including a Zoom presentation with two book authors and fiber art lovers.
A presentation via Zoom — a Laundry Camp — is planned with Karin B. Miller and Patric Richardson, co-authors of “Laundry Love: Finding Joy in a Common Chore” for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4. Organizers suggest tuning in around 6:45 p.m. Richardson is a textile expert who owns a boutique in the Mall of America. There, he holds Laundry Camps about how loving laundry can change your life. A Laundry Camp teaches attendees how to care for their textiles and clothes at home. The class also gives people confidence in washing clothes and helps them fall in love with laundry with some easy laundry lessons.
The link for the Zoom Laundry Camp will be posted prior to the event on Aug. 4 on the ”Galeton, Pennsylvania Worldwide Knitting in Public Day” Facebook page. The Laundry Camp will run for about an hour, with an opportunity to ask questions after. Attendees will get to hear about their new book, as well.
