Coudersport police have arrested John Edward Bunnell, 54, of Coudersport on charges related to an armed robbery.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. Aug. 29, police received a report of a robbery at the Dollar General Store on Chestnut Street, Coudersport. A white mail wearing a red shirt and black shorts reportedly displayed a knife to the cashier and demanded he empty the cash drawer. The man then fled west on Route 6 in a black Chevrolet pick-up with a white cap.
Police located the truck in Roulette Township. Officers from Coudersport Borough, Sweden Township and Pennsylvania State Police responded. A traffic stop was conducted and Bunnell was taken into custody. Police recovered a knife and a Dollar General bag with cash inside.
Bunnell was arraigned before District Judge Kalacinski; bail was set at $100,000. The suspect was remanded to the Potter County Jail.
No injuries were incurred by Dollar General staff, law enforcement or the suspect.
