The varsity soccer match between Northern Potter and Northeast Bradford played on Saturday, Oct. 6 resulted in a 5-4 loss for Northern Potter.
Northern Potter came out strong in the first half, with Dakota Perkins scoring off an assist by Kasey Freeman, at 3:58. Finding his second goal of the evening Perkins scored again at 7:07 with an assist by Carter Anderson. Rounding out the scoring in the first half, it was Ezra Sprow who was awarded a goal when Northeast had an own goal at 16:36.
With a 3-0 lead coming out of the half, Anderson took a penalty kick at 46:25, giving the Northern Potter Panther’s a 4-0 lead with 34 minutes remaining in the game. Northeast kept fighting and was determined to see the comeback. Northeast found their first goal at 58 minutes when Jude Jampo scored off an assist by Brady Hopkins. Ten minutes later at 68:47, Northern Potter gave up their second goal to Northeast when Gavin Merritt was able to find the net. While Northern Potter continued to hold a 4-2 lead, Northeast had new life and scored again at 69:21 when Jampo found his second net of the evening with an assist by Collin Cowles. The tie was achieved off a penalty kick awarded at 74:07 and Cowles with his first net of the morning. Northeast was able to break the tie at 78 minutes with their fifth goal scored by Brady Brown (unassisted) and securing the win 5-4.
