Police responded to a reported dog bite that occurred on Odell Road in Richmond Township Jan. 20. Upon investigation it was discovered that the victim was running down the road and an unleashed dog ran from the residence and scratched the victim on the leg. Charges were filed through district court.


Rachel A. Mertz, 26, of Wellsboro avoided injury in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 15 in Blossburg Boro Feb. 2. Mertz was operating a 2008 Chrysler Sebring when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a concrete barrier before coming to a final rest on the side of the road.

Victor P. June, 54, of Liberty and two passengers, as well as Susan M. Knipe, 47, of Canadaigua all avoided injury in a two-vehicle accident on Route 414 in Liberty Township. June was operating a 1998 Ford Ranger when he lost control of the vehicle due to icy road conditions and struck a 2003 Buick Le Sabre operated by Knipe. No injuries were reported and Knipes car was towed from the scene by Matt’s Garage & Towing.

Mario D. Mondelice, 25, of Mansfield, suffered a possible injury in a two-vehicle accident on Route 6 in Richmond Township Feb. 10. Mondelice was operating a 2015 Hyundai Sonata and was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 549 without proper distance from oncoming traffic. Mondelice then struck a 2003 GMC Envoy operated by Chad A. Smith, 27, of Covington. Mondelice was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital by the Mansfield Ambulance. Smith avoided injury.


Police are investigating the reported theft of $8,000 in assorted hand tools from a residence in Westfield Township. Unknown individuals forced open the rear door to the victim’s garage and reportedly stole hand tools and then fled from the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.


State Police are investigating a reported incident of harassment in Covington Township Feb. 9. The investigation is ongoing.
