The 14th annual Family Fun Fair is planned for 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Potter County Fair Grounds in Millport.
The Potter County Integrated Children’s Services Team holds this free summer event to provide fun, education and awareness of services for children and their families in the county.
Registration for prizes and lunch tickets begin at 10 a.m. Prizes include a family getaway package, bicycles, games, movie tickets, World Little League Museum tickets and much more. Raffles will be drawn throughout the day on the half hour. People must be present to win.
The activities begin at 11 a.m. and there is something for everyone. Crosstown Alliance Church will give free haircuts, a magic show, games and treats.
Pennsylvania Woodmobile will have a display of Pennsylvania trees and wood products.
Some favorite activities and items from over the years will continue this year: free books, cotton candy, free lunch (thanks to local grocery stores across the county and Beacon Light Behavioral Health), Smokey Bear and his friend and child photo ID and fingerprinting.
Dental education, wellness, nutrition and rehab services will be presented by UPMC For You and UPMC Cole. LifeNet of New York medical helicopter and the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Dept. and Ambulance are expected to be there.
LeeLee Clown and her balloons will make an appearance, sponsored by the Oswayo Valley Historical Society. A dunk tank, bounce house, games, face painting and crafts will also be available. Basic astronomy will be taught by Stash Nawrocki.Information on programs throughout the county will be available, including aging, drug and alcohol, intellectual disabilities, early intervention, children’s services and mental health, as well as many representatives of programs from across the state.
