Perry Kinney, 53, Nicholas Kinney, 28, and Emily Kinney, 22, of Shinglehouse, requested assistance on Jan. 6, after a fire ignited and damaged their single-story home in Ceres Township. The fire was determined to have originated in a bedroom of the home and was accidental in nature, due to an issue with an electric space heater. No injuries were reported and the fire was quickly extinguished by the fire department. The home is deemed a complete loss due to heat, smoke and water damage is estimated at $40,000.
Cruelty to Animals
Police responded to a report alleging cruelty to animals regarding horses on Herrington Road, Sharon Township. Further investigation determined no indicators of cruelty towards the horses.
An accuser from Ulysses reported multiple horses trespassing on private property on Jan. 11. The investigation is ongoing.
An accuser from Shinglehouse reported a fraudulent attempt at using the accuser’s credit card, on Jan. 8. The accuser said the attempt was to charge for a computer through Amazon. The accuser’s money was not taken from the account. The incident is still under investigation.
An accuser from Westfield reported a theft, which occurred on Jan. 9. A five gallon red gas tank filled with diesel fuel was stolen. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact PSP Coudersport at 814-274-8690.
Andrew Fridy, 32, of Lancaster, crashed a 2003 Ford on Germania Road in Abbot Township on Nov. 30. An investigation concluded that Fridy was above the legal limit pertaining to Driving Under the Influence of Alchol. Charges have been filed before MDJ Christopher D. Kalacinski. Austin Goudling, 22, of Coudersport, failed to keep inside the right lane of travel while driving a 2006 Ford on Davidge Street, Coudersport Borough on Dec. 28. Upon conducting a traffic stop for this violation, police observed that Goudling appeared to be intoxicated and was subsequently transported to UMC Cole for a blood draw. On Jan. 8, the blood test results indicated Goudling had a Blood Alcohol Content of .239%. Charges were filed on Jan. 9 in before MDJ Annette Easton.
An 18-year-old male, of Whitesville, N.Y., was exhibiting erratic behavior on Jan. 11at the Acorn Market gas pumps in Genesee Township. Police responded and found the male unresponsive in his vehicle. EMS assisted on scene. The male was later arrested for DUI and transported to UPMC Cole for chemical testing. The investigation continues.
Jaxon Bonney, 18, of Shinglehouse, was traveling north on SR-44 in a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo when he crossed the center line, impacting the guide rail in the south side of the roadway. The vhiecle came to a final rest on the southbound lane. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, but Bonney was not injured. Bonney was cited for Lap and Shoulder Belt Used. A hit and run crash on North Hollow Road in Sweden Township was reported on Jan. 12. The date and time of the crash is unknown. The vehicle is believed to have been traveling southbound when it went off the roadway and struck a guide rail. The vehicle is believed to be a silver vehicle of unknown make and model. Police responded to a report of harassment, allegedly occuring between Nov. 1 and Nov. 15, 2019, in Austin. The accuser is an unidentified juvenile female. The investigation is ongoing.
