A male victim, from Austin, reported a red-colored laptop was stolen from a Costello road property on Feb. 1.

A female victim, from Ulysses, reported being contacted by an individual fraudulently claiming to be an employee of the Social Security Administration, sometime between Jan. 29 and Feb. 3, alleging that her bank accounts would be frozen unless personal information was provided.

A male victim, from Ulysses Township, reported a Cub Cadet model 342 snow blower attachment was stolen from his residential driveway between Jan. 14 and 15. The attachment is valued at $1300.

A male victim, from Harrison Valley, reported numerous catalytic converters were stolen from multiple vehicles from a Main Street property.

An 82-year-old white male was involved with a one-vehicle, non-reportable crash on Jan. 29, along Long Road. Troopers observed the male to be Driving while Under the Influence of alcohol.

A 30-year-old white male was observed to be DUI of alcohol on Jan. 23 along Main Street in Galeton.

Charges are pending in both cases.


Two Harrison Valley residents reported an unknown person, or persons, entered their Main Street home and removed several different types of medication, including gabapentin, clonidine and trazodone. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact PSP-Coudersport at 814-274-8690.


A single-vehicle crash occurred on Gold Road in Genesse Township on Feb. 2. Jaclyn Casale, 26, of Wellsville, N.Y., was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra northbound when she lost control of her vehicle and slid off he roadway, causing the vehicle to go into a ditch and strike a tree. The vehicle was disabled and needed towing. Neither Casale nor the passenger, Daniel Butler, 30, of Wellsville, sustained injuries. Casale was cited for driving a vehicle at a safe speed.

A single vehicle crash occurred in Ulysses Township on Feb. 2. Cody Heck, 27, of East Smethport, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet HHR south on SR-449 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a guardrail on the right of the roadway. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Heck sustained no injuries nor was a citation reported.

A single-vehicle crash occurred on Jan. 23 along Wharton Road in Wharton Township. Michael Hayes, 48, of Sinnamahoning, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet CK 2500 southbound when he exited the southbound lane fo an unknown reason, raveled across the northbound lane and off of the roadway. Upon exiting the roadway, the vehicle struck a culvert and rested, facing south. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Hayes sustained minor injuries and was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic. Austin Volunteer Ambulance, Austin Fire Department, Medic 7 and Kightlinger Motors assisted on the scene.
