Darrin Charles Kleiman, 22, of York, was charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and indecent assault following an interview by the accuser at the York County Child Advocacy Center on Oct. 9, 2019. The accuser related being assaulted by Kleiman in 2013. In an interview with the Kleiman on Jan. 20, Kleiman admitted to actions related to the charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 21.
Kim Kristine Emmel, 56, of Ulysses, was charged with endangering the welfare of children, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of driving under the influence and careless driving following a welfare check on Mar. 18. Police arrived at a residence in Genesee and made contact with Emmel. In Emmel’s vehicle police observed drug paraphernalia and burnt residue. Upon making contact with Emmel the defendant reportedly admitted she had smoked marijuana earlier that day. Police performed a standard field sobriety test on Emmel who exhibited signs of impairment. Emmel was taken into custody and transported to UPMC Cole for DUI blood testing. Lab results confirmed Emmel was under the influence of marijuana on the date of the incident. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 21.
