SHINGLEHOUSE — The 12th annual Summer Fun Fest hosted by the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Association is planned for next Saturday, June 29. Vendors, food and entertainment is planned for the whole day; entertainment is provided by the OV Senior Center.

Vendors can begin setting up at 7 a.m.

The public is invited to attend this free event starting with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., hosted by the OV Senior Center.

Registration for the car, truck, motorcycle, tractor and fire truck show begins at 9 a.m. in conjunction with parade registration, until 10:30 a.m.

The parade is at 11 a.m. This year’s theme is “Hats off to Shinglehouse.”

A chicken barbecue will start at 11:30 a.m. and will be served until it’s gone.

Weather permitting, a performance by G2 Gymnastics is planned from noon until 1:30 p.m.

For those who want to participate in the 1 p.m. water fight, registration begins at noon. For those who are looking to stay dry, inflatable rides will be available from noon until 5 p.m. All-day bracelets are $5 each. Also starting at noon is the OV Senior Center carnival, going until 3 p.m.

Music by DJ Mark Fowler can be heard from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and the Shinglehouse Community Choir will perform from 1:30 until 3 p.m.

The Summer Fun Fest raffle drawing is at 2 p.m.

A dance contest is scheduled for 4 p.m., with sign-ups beginning at 3.

Generations Performing, a gift from the OV Class of 1969 is planned from 6-9 p.m., followed by Young’s Explosives Fireworks at 10 p.m.
