Megan’s Law violation

Dakota Caskey, 23, of Shinglehouse, was charged with two counts of failure to comply as a convicted sex offender with Megan’s Law requirements to provide accurate and updated information to state police following an investigation between Jan. 29 and Feb. 27. Caskey was arrested at 3084 East Second St., Sweden Township and charged in district court.

Crash

Shane M. Bundy, 30, of Shinglehouse, escaped injury in a one vehicle crash on Route 44, Clara Township March 23. According to police, Bundy was traveling south in a 2016 Buick Encore when he lost control of the car on the slush covered roads and crossed the road jumping an embankment. The car continued through the front yard of private property and came to rest in the woods next to the yard. The vehicle had to be towed. Bundy was cited for speeding.

Found property

State police are looking for the owner of a pick-up truck tailgate that fell off or out of an unknown truck on Hurlbert Hill Road, Harrison Township Jan. 20 or Jan. 21. The dark green tailgate looks like it might attach to an older model Dodge truck, according to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-274-8690. The tailgate is available for pick-up at the state police barracks.

Hit and run

State police are looking for the driver involved in a hit and run crash on First Fork Road, Homer Township March 23. According to police, the unknown vehicle backed into a mailbox after exiting a driveway on North Ayers Hill Road, Summit Township and drove away. The vehicle is believed to be a UPS delivery van. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
