Assault by prisoner

Mathew G. Confer, 40, of Bradford, faces multiple charges following an incident at the McKean County Jail July 1. Police said Confer became aggressive while being placed in a restraint chair for behavior at the jail. When guards dry tazed him, he kicked the guard multiple times in the genitalia according to police. Confer was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, assault by prisoner and harassment.


A 25-year-old Smethport male was arrested for harassment following an incident at Bailey Avenue, Norwich Township June 30. Police said the male had unwanted contact with a a 27-year-old female. Charges were filed in district court.

A 38-year-old Mt. Jewett male was arrested for harassment following an incident on Philips Street, Mt. Jewett Borough June 28. Police said he subjected a 15-year-old female to physical contact. Citations were filed in district court.

Police charged four family members with harassment following a domestic incident at Looker Mountain Trail, Otto Township June 27. Charged were a a 31-year-old and 47-year-old female from Rixford; a 44-year-old male from Rixford and a 47-year-old female from Limestone, N.Y.

Disorderly conduct

Eight people will be charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at Tracy Ridge Recreation Area, Corydon Township, McKean County July 4. According to police the group was playing loud music late into the night and causing a disturbance. To be charged are four females from Bolivar, N.Y.; one female from Cuba, N.Y., one female from Filmore, N.Y., a female from Summerville, S.C., and a male from Smethoport.


A 22-year-old Wilcox man was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants during a Rule 519 release of another person on South Fraley Street, Kane borough, June 25. The arrestee was found to be DUI when he arrived in a 2007 GMC Envoy to pick up the person to be released.


A 50-year-old Kane female was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on West Washington Street, Bradford, July 4. Police said the operator of the 2015 Chevrolet was transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center for a blood test and charges are pending the results of the test.


John H. Anderson, 49, of Kane escaped injury and Rebecca M. Todd, 54 of Kane, suffered minor injury in a one-vehicle crash on Highland Road, Wetmore Township June 28, Anderson was traveling north in a 2016 Buick Encore when he swerved into the southbound lane and hit a tree. Police said he was later found to be DUI of alcohol. Both occupants were wearing seat belts.

Jason W. King, 43, of Kane escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 6, Hamlin Township July 3. King was traveling north in a 2012 Ford F-150 XLT when he hit a deer in the roadway. He was wearing a shoulder belt only.

Jaime L. Macias, 43, and Isaac L. Macias, 24, both of Lewis Run, escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 646, Keating Township July 2. Jaime Macias was traveling north in a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country mini-van when a deer entered the roadway, causing her to hit it. Both occupants were wearing their seat belts.


Two people were charged with assault following an incident on Freer Hollow Road, Liberty Township June 27. Police said the 40-year-old male and 53-year-old male, both of Port Allegany, engaged in a verbal argument which turned physical, and both sustained injuries.
