PORT ALLEGANY — The school board here passed the new long-term substitute rate of $228/day after 60 consecutive days in a single assignment. The rate will depend on the academic education of the teacher and does not include insurance and other benefits that daily teachers are paid.

The usage of the Seneca Highlands IU9 Mobile Fingerprinting Services was passed, meaning teachers will be fingerprinted in accordance with background check law.

The agreement with Beacon Light Behavioral Health System for alternative education for disruptive youth was approved. The Custer City Private School will be used by the district in the future.

There was a discussion of Cheri Nasto’s farewell from the Port Allegany school board’s meeting on Monday, Nov. 11.

The next scheduled regular board meeting will take place on Dec. 2.
