An accuser, from Mount Jewett, reported a theft by unauthorized use of a credit card on Feb. 8.

An accuser, from Port Allegany, reported a theft occurred on Feb. 4 at a Brooklynside Road residence.

The investigation continues for both cases.

An accuser, from Port Allegany, reported a sexual assault on Feb. 8. The investigation is ongoing.

Drug Possession

A 60-year-old female, of Olean, N.Y., was arrested after a traffic stop on SR-446 in Keating Township. An investigation determined the female was driving under the influence of a small amount of marijuana.

Susan Schimp, 60, of Smethport, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphenalia on Jan. 29, while troopers were investigating a Megan’s Law violation. A consent to search was conducted due to an anonymous tip. Charges will be filed before MDJ William Todd.

Tobacco Sale

A 38-year-old female, of Shinglehouse, reportedly purchased one electronic cigarette and provided it to a minor, from Smethport, on Feb. 4. The investigation is ongoing.


A 24-year-old male, from Bradford, was arrested on Feb. 3 for engaging in a physical altercation with another Bradford resident. Charges are pending before MDJ Richard Luther.

A 39-year-old female, from Eldred, was arrested on Feb. 2 for striking a male Eldred resident during a verbal argument. Charges are pending before MDJ William Todd.


A 21-year-old female, of Olean, N.Y., allegedly assaulted, choked and strangled a 36-year-old male, of Smethport, on Feb. 3. The accuser sustained severe, though non-life threatening injuries, as a result of this altercation. The arrestee was arraigned and remanded to McKean County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail.


A 56-year-old male, of Bradford, was observed making a traffic violation on Feb. 3 on Seward and Jackson Avenues. Upon further investigation, it was determined the man was operating a 2015 Dodge Durango while under the influence of alcohol.

A 26-year-old male, of Bradford, attempted to drive a 2018 Jeep through a snow covered field in LaFayette Township on Feb. 3 and became stuck. When PSP responded to the incident, the vehicle operator admitted to being under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center for a legal blood draw. Donova’s Towing assisted on scene.

A 22-year-old male, of Meadville, was operating a 2009 BMW without a functioning passenger side headlight on Feb. 2. PSP conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver to be under the influence of marijuana.

A 21-year-old male, of Turtlepoint, crashed a 2015 Subaru Impreza Outback on Feb. 2 in Annin Township. Upon arrival, it was determined the man was driving under the influence of alcohol. No injuries were reported.

Charges in each case are pending results from blood draw tests.


A Shinglehouse resident reported an attempted burglary to a Bells Run Road property. The investigation determined a bobby pin was used in an attempt to break into the structure. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP-Lewis Run at 814-368-9230.


Kathryn Danielson, 42, of Duke Center, was driving north in a 1996 Ford F-150XLT on SR-46 in Keating Township on Feb. 4, when she lost control of the vehicle, due to a steering malfunction. The vehicle exited the side of the roadway, struck a utility pole, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree Danielson was cited for operating a vehicle without an official certificate of inspection and refused transport by Priority Care Ambulance, despite sustaining possible injuries. Rew Fire Department assisted on scene.

Kaleb Atherton, 22, of Brockport, was driving a 2017 Honda HRV north on SR-219 on Jan. 25 when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed both opposing lanes of travel, exited the west side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned, once. The vehicle rested on its side, but was rolled back onto its wheels prior to police arriving on scene. Atherton sustained minor injuries and multiple airbags were deployed. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Atherton was cited for driving the vehicle at safe speed.
