Corruption of minors

A juvenile female reported, on Jan. 31, receiving unwanted, explicit messages from an unknown adult male through Facebook. The unidentified male sent photos of his genitalia and requested videos of the juvenile in return. The investigation is ongoing.


A 31-year-old female and a 16-year-old female, both of Mount Jewett, had a verbal argument which turned into a physical altercation, with both sustaining injuries. Charges of strangulation and other related counts against both individuals are pending before MDJ David Engman.


A 2010 Buick LaCrosse was traveling north on Route 219 in LaFayette Township on Jan. 31 when a deer crossed the roadway. The unidentified driver tried to avoid colliding with the animal, but failed. The vehicle sustained minimal damage and was able to be driven from the scene. Neither the driver nor the passenger sustained injuries.

Two unidentified 2019 vehicles were traveling north on route 219 in Hamlin Township on Jan. 30, one in the right lane and the other in the left lane. When the vehicle attempted merge into the left lane, the other vehicle was struck on the driver’s side mirror. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were able to be driven from the scene. Neither driver was injured in the crash and both were wearing their seatbelts.

Kayla Hitchcock, 24, of Eldred, was traveling south in a 2007 Subaru Forester on Barnum Road on Jan. 27 when she encountered icy conditions. The vehicle slid off the road into a ditch and sustained minor damage. Hitchcock was cited for not wearing her seatbelt and for failing to secure a car seat into position with a three-year-old passenger inside. Hitchcock sustained minor injuries but refused medical transport. The passenger sustained no injuries.

Wayne Foster, 44, of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, was traveling east in a 2009 Mercedes-Benz on the snow-covered Burning Well Road on Jan. 26 when he lost control of the vehicle, then left the eastbound travel lane. The vehicle continued off the roadway, struck a group of trees and came to rest. Foster was wearing his seatbelt during the crash and was uninjured. Donovan’s Towing assisted on scene.

Criminal trespass

An unidentified person entered a Main Street residence in Mount Jewett on Jan. 26. The owner is requesting no prosecution in this matter.


A 25-year-old male, of Franklinville, New York, was found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 25 in Annin Township, while troopers conducted a traffic stop after observing multiple summary traffic violations. Charges are pending lab results from a blood draw, done at UPMC Cole.

Criminal mischief

Brian Johson, 53, currently an inmate at McKean County Correctional Facility, damaged a sprinkler head for the fire system on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19. Charges have been filed.

Terroristic threats

Jason Conner, 35, of Cyclone, allegedly held a gun to an accuser’s head and threatened to kill the accuser on Jan. 21, after driving to the scene while under the influence of a controlled substance. Subsequently, police searched the vehicle and a small handgun was found in his possession. Charges were filed before MDJ William Todd and bail was set at $20,000.

Megan’s Law failure to comply

On Jan. 21, PSP Lewis-Run was requested to investigate a suspected Megan’s Law violation, alleging the suspect failed to update a new address. The investigation is ongoing.


Lewis Run PSP troopers responded to a report of an assault of a Kane resident in Centre County on Jan. 19. The complainant alleged a physical altercation took place between the accuser and Anthony Hallden. PSP-Rockview was notified of the incident and will continue the investigation.
