A 25-year-old man was charged earlier this month with more than 50 counts related to child pornography, court documents indicate.
According to court documents, Chad Caldwell, of Smethport, admitted to police in October that he was in possession of and disseminated child pornography to others via the internet and on his cell phone, after an investigation lead members of the Pennyslvania State Police special investigation to the Smethport residence in which Caldwell was staying.
In December, police began the process of analyzing Caldwell’s phone and located 673 images and/or playble vidoes, depicting a variety of prebuescant juveniles performing sexual acts and exposing their genitalia, court documents state.
According to court documents, Caldwell had a preliminary arraignment before Magisterial District Judge William Tood and was committed to McKean County Correctional Facility, unable to post the $20,000 bail set. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 27.
