Lalit M. Batra, 44, of Oakville, Ontaio avoided injury in a one-vehicle accident onRoute 219 in Lafayette Township March 4. Batra was operating a 2003 Toyota Sienna when the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch. The vehicle then spun and came to a final rest off the roadway. Lafayette Township Fire Department and Zooks Towing Company assisted at the scene.

Scattering rubbish

State police responded to a Pine Grove Road, Liberty Township for a report fo scattering rubbish. When state police arrived at the scene, they discovered a mattress, box springs and five tires left on the property. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Natural death

State police were notified by the McKean County 911 Center of a death at a residence on Flickerwood Road in Wetmore Township March 8. Emergency Care Ambulance, the McKean County coroner and Thompson Funeral Home assisted at the scene.

Drug possession

Lawrence McCune, 63, of Butler was arrested for drug possession on Route 219 in Hamlin Township March 9. State police observed a motor vehicle commit a traffic violation to which a traffic stop was initiated. Upon further investigation, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle.

A 47-year-old male of Port Allegany was arrested for drug possession on West maple Street in Port Allegany boro March 14. The individual was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado when he allegedly committed a traffic violation. State police conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and upon further investigation determined the driver to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending.
