Crashes

State police are investigating a hit and run crash on Route 66, Wetmore Township Aug. 16. The crash occurred when a tractor-trailer traveling south hit low hanging electric lines and pulled them off a residence. It continued on without stopping. It is described as having a white trailer with blue lettering. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewis Run.

Norman G. Foster, 52, of Henderson, N.C. suffered a suspected minor injury in a one-vehicle crash on Route 66, Wetmore Township Aug. 23. Henderson was traveling north on his 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and negotiating a right curve when he hit roadway debris and rocks and lost control of the bike, which fell onto its right side and slid across the south bound lane. Both Foster and his passenger, Theresa L. Foster, 50, also of Henderson, N.C. had minor injuries. They were both wearing helmets. They were transported to UPMC Kane for treatment of their injuries.

Theft

Police are investigating the theft of parts from a 1978 John Deere road grader located in a field near the intersection of Lynch Hollow Road and Kings Run Road Aug. 8. Among the parts stolen were two batteries and two lead cables. The grader belongs to a 58-year-old Shinglehouse man. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewis Run.

Police are investigating the theft of a floor jack from a garage located on Big Shanty Road, Lafayette Township. The jack, which belongs to a 66-year-old Lewis Run man, is valued at $160.

Police are investigating the theft of items from a motor vehicle parked at Cyclone Park Road Aug. 19. Stolen from the 2006 Suzuki SUV were a flashlight, a pack of cigarettes, an LG cell phone, wireless headphones, a bottle of prescription medication, and between $30 and $50. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewis Run.

A 34-year-old Eldred man was arrested for theft on North Branch Road, Eldred Township Aug. 4. Police said an engagement ring was stolen from a 35-year-old Eldred woman. The investigation is ongoing.

PFA

Benjamin Rolfe, 33, of Port Allegany man was charged with a protection from abuse order in Keating Township, Aug, 10. Rolfe allegedly initiated a verbal argument with the 34-year-old female victim and was told to leave the residence immediately. He then aggressively punched a hole in a wooden cupboard in the kitchen, police said. Rolfe was arrested and taken to the Lewis Run state police barracks and charges were filed before District Judge William K. Todd.

A 30-year-old Portville, N.Y. man was arrested for violating a protection from abuse order against a 38-year-old Duke Center woman Aug. 18 in Otto Township. Charges were filed in District Court.

Harassment

State police are investigating a threat of harassment at 7 Maple Street, Otto Township, McKean County, Aug. 24. Police said they found a vulgar statement handwritten on the side of the victim’s truck.

DUI

A 57-year-old Rural Valley man was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop on Route 46, Aug. 10. The driver was in a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic. He was transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center and charges are pending blood draw results.

A 31-year-old Fairview man was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants following a traffic stop on Route 6, Kane, on Aug. 18. The driver was in a 2015 Jeep which was observed committing multiple alleged traffic violations, police said. Charges are pending blood draw results.

A 60-year-old Kane man was arrested for DUI following a traffic stop on South Ave./Minard Run Road Aug. 22. Police witnessed the driver of the 2013 Subaru commit a summary traffic violation. Charges will be filed through District Court pending blood alcohol testing results.

Unauthorized use of vehicle

A 37-year-old Eldred man was arrested for using a 2008 Mercury Mariner without the owner’s permission in Annin Township Aug. 4. The vehicle was taken from the Taylor Drive residence early in the morning hours of Aug. 4. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Lewis Run.

Jesse Peffer, 24, of Smethport, was arrested for probable cause DUI following a traffic stop of his 2000 Nissan Frontier pick-up truck on Route 6, Hamlin Township, McKean County Aug. 18. The investigation is continuing.

Terroristic threats

A 59-year-old Duke Center man was arrested for making terroristic threats against three male victims in Lewis Run between Aug. 16 and Aug. 19. The suspect allegedly made threats to harm other employees at the business with a firearm. Associated charges will be filed in District Court.

Assault

Adam Reinard, 52, of Port Allegany, was arrested for assault with bodily injury following a domestic incident on Route 155, Liberty Township, McKean County Aug. 24. Reinard allegedly hit the 51-year-old female in the face and attempted to flee the residence but was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Richard W. Luther on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was jailed in the McKean County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.

Criminal mischief

Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief Aug. 23 on Skinner Creek Road, Liberty Township, McKean Township. Police determined that the 52-year-old male’s car was damaged by eggs. Suspects have been identified and the investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is asked ton contact state police at Lewis Run.
