State Police are investigating a report of theft that occurred March 1. The accuser reported that she had purchased outdoor furniture from Facebook but never received said item. The accuser later realzied that it was a scam and contacted state police at Lewis Run. The investigation is ongoing.

Cruelty to animals

An incident of cruelty that occurred between March 8 and March 10 was reported to state police at Lewis Run. Through investigation it was discovered that the animal cruelty had taken place in Lebanon County and will be investigated by state police in Jonestown.


State police at Lewis Run responded to Chapel Forks Road in Lafayette Township for a possible burglary. Upon arrival it was determined that an unknown actor kicked open the front door to the camp and threw a rock breaking a window. Nothing inside the camp was disturbed. The investigation is ongoing.

Drug possession

A 55-year-old female of Smethport was arrested for drug possession March 17 on North Mechanic Street in Smethport Boro. State police conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation and upon investigation the individual was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and for possession of a small amount of drugs.

Natural death

State police and Port Allegany Ambulance responded to a report of a pickup truck sitting on the road at Route 155 with the driver not breathing. The individual was found deceased. Deputy coroner assisted at the scene. The case is being investigated.

State police responded to a call reporting a death on Division Street in Hamlin Township, March 20. When state police arrived at the scene they found the body in the living room. This was an unattended death. The case is currently being investigated.

PFA violation

State police responded to a report of a protection violation out of New York State on March 12. On March 14, charges were filed against a 47-year-old male of Olean N.Y.


State police responded to a report of suspected child abuse in reference to the suspect sexually abusign a child in Ceres Township, March 18. The case is currently being investigated.
