Isaiah Shuemaker finished the regular season with 37 goals for the Galeton Tigers.

The Galeton boys soccer team has qualified for districts and will begin tournament play as the third seed in the Class A tournament Saturday at 4:30 p.m. with a match against Muncy at the Balls Mills Complex in Williamsport.

Last season the Tigers made it to the second round of Disticts after a 5-1 win over Sullivan County in the first round. Galeton would lose their second round game against Millville 3-0 on Halloween night.

This season the boys are hoping for a different outcome.

On Monday of last week the Tigers squared off against Troy for a 4-2 victory. Isaiah Shuemaker and Joel Griffin were responsible for all of Galeton’s goals in the win. The win improved Galeton’s record to 13-4 overall with one final game against Sullivan County on the season.

Friday against a strong Sullivan County team Galeton fell 7-1. The lone Tiger goal came from Isaiah Shuemaker who finished the the regular season with 37 placing him fifth overall in the state in goals. The loss drops Galeton’s overall record to 13-5.

Despite the loss Galeton enters the district playoff tournament as the third seed behind only Millville and Sullivan County.
