Galeton opened up their season on the court with a 2-5 loss to Cowanesque on Tuesday, Aug. 27 with Andi Leach securing the only singles victory at the number one seed, with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hayley Painter of Cowanesque.

On Friday, Aug. 30, Liberty played host to Williamson at Island Park, Blossburg, securing a shut out 7-0 victory over the Lady Warriors with Jourdyn Buckheit leading the team at the number one singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Anna Copp.

In Wellsboro’s home opener, the Lady Hornets suffered a 3-4 loss to Galeton, as both the number two seeds of Brianna Quimby and Kassi Brown and the number four seeds of Shyann Foreman and Cassie Kiselyk played long matches. Quimby and Brown nearly a 2.5 hour matchup.
