Holly K. Partyka, 64, of Fairport N.Y. and a passenger Francis X. Connelly, 65, of Penfield, N.Y. suffered suspected injuries in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 15 in Tioga Township Dec. 2. Partyka was operating a 2016 Ford F150 XLT when she attempted to negotiate a right hand turn and began to spin. A U-Haul trailer being pulled by Partyka overturned in the roadway.

Bobirt Kurbanov, 34, of Philadelphia was operating a 2013 Volvo VNL truck when the U-Haul overturned ahead of him. Kurbanov swerved to avoid hitting Partyka’s vehicle but still struck the vehicle and came to a final rest on the left side of the roadway.

When police arrived on scene an investigation of the accident revealed Partyka had marijuana in her possession at the time of the accident. Traffic citations and criminal charges are pending. Partyka and Connelly were transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital via Tioga EMS.

As the accident with Partyka and Kurbanov blocked U.S. 15, a second accident occurred behind the first. Milan Milosavljevic, 57, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and Richard Innocent, 24, of Miami, Fla. suffered suspected minor injuries in the second accident, while Harinder S. Bains, 51, of Brampton, Ontario avoided injury a three-vehicle pileup.

Baines was operating a 2012 Volvo and Innocent was operating a 2018 Volvo, both were stopped in the right and left lanes on U.S. 15 due to the previous accident. Milosavljevic operating a Freightliner Columbia, observed the other vehicles stopped ahead of him and applied his brakes but due to the weather conditions Milosavljevic lost control of the vehicle and struck both Baines and Innocent.

Milosavljevic and Innocent sustained injuries due to the accident and were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
