Blossburg Memorial Library’s Senior Yoga classes are back on Tuesdays through Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. All levels welcome. While the class focuses on seniors, others who feel their health will benefit may attend.

In addition, the Friends of the Library will host a special “Yoga with Friends” class in September on Mondays, Sept. 9 to Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. This class is for people of all ages and abilities. This class is being run as a fundraiser for the Friends who generously sponsor many of the programs that the library offers. Donations are requested in exchange for your attendance.

Come meet poet, memoirist and encourager Michael Czarnecki. He will visit the library twice in September and the public is invited attend for free.

At 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, he will present “Palm of the Hand Memoir Workshop.” Everyone has stories to share – learn how to choose which memories to write about and how to best write short individual stories about your life.

Michael will make it easy and encourage you along the way.

On Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m., Michael will present a poetry reading.

Michael has made a living through the creative word for nearly a quarter of a century and has published 16 chapbooks and books of poetry. He has given hundreds of readings throughout the country. Refreshments will be provided at both events.

These events are free to participants thanks to a donation by the Friends of the Library.

The next book club is Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.

“Behind Closed Doors,” a chilling psychological thriller by B.A. Paris will be discussed.

Join in for a discussion about this book that will keep you guessing and reading long into the night. Stop by anytime to pick up the book. Anybody can join us, even if they haven’t read the book.
